TPG FTTB Network Boundary and its Installation

For the convenience of the customers, TPG supplies wifi modem to every customer to connect with the TPG FTTB’s service. TPG also provides Network Termination Units (NTU) to its customers depending on their buildings.

Customers can collect all the required equipment from TPG’s Head Office, which is in North Ryde, NSW. However, to enjoy delivery of the equipment at your doorstep, you have to pay an amount of $10.

Before the TPG FTTB Network Installment, the customers have to do the following;

  • Open the shipping container that is sent to them.
  • Follow up the welcome pack with the modem and detailed plugin instructions for the wifi modem and NTU.

When you have to install the TPG FTTB network in your home, a technician will arrive at your building’s Main Distribution Frame, and he will connect a copper pair cable from your side (MDF “B”) and the FTTB equipment (MDF “A”).

The technician will make a flawless connection between the FTTb head office and your building and ensure the best performance of the network. The Main Distribution Frame (MDF) is the TPG’s responsibility; TPG is not responsible for in-building cabling.

Here’s a guide video to install FTTB at your home;

Once you activate the FTTB service, it checks and monitors whether you have any other service like internet or phone on your premises. And if there are any, you cancel them so you can avoid further billings. TPG is not responsible for the other service charges that you have before. That’s why make sure to disconnect and terminate them after you subscribe to the TPG FTTB Plan.

Is TPG FTTB better than NBN?

TPG FTTB and TPG NBN  are different. TPG on-net is highly recommended for business purposes as it excellently supports symmetric speeds, whereas NBN is ADSL replacement technology.

Is FTTB faster than FTTN?

Do you need a modem for FTTB?

Yes, a compatible router or modem is the only piece of equipment you need to connect NBN with FTTB, plugging into your home phone line.
